We recently attended a summer visit day with our daughter who will start at Purdue this August. As we attended the various presentations, three different staff members announced their pronouns: a middle-aged man from the campus’ LGBTQ Center and two young women from the Academic Success Center. Also, the man who, I believe, is in charge of the academic advisors, stated that all of those advisors are currently being trained by staff at CAPS (Counseling and Psychological Services) to recognize signs of mental health distress in students they are ACADEMICALLY advising. ~ Parent
My daughter was “congratulated” by staff for her ‘new name’. What the hell Purdue. Stop shoving. ~ Parent
