My daughter who is “non-binary” is currently a junior at Lehigh and I would agree with the “widespread” categorization. Although Lehigh was not as in-your-face about their transgender activism as other schools we considered/visited, it is very much apparent on campus. Based on its strong academics and scholarship my daughter received we decided to enroll, and I have kept a watchful eye on them ever since. The Pride Center at LU is very active, with a large membership and a variety of activities throughout the year, including drag queen shows, guest speakers and dedicated “safe spaces” for gender-non conforming, bi, pan, fluid, queer, etc. By the looks of their annual report, they are very well funded and involved in variety of activist causes outside of transgenderism. If your son/daughter is highly impressionable and highly inclined/involved in “social justice”, you should be concerned. Fortunately, between joining the ultimate frisbee team and a very challenging major, my daughter has been too busy to get caught up in the transgender stuff and even more fortunately for her and us, she has not proceeded to transition any further. Lehigh is an excellent school but I would definitely proceed with caution. ~ Parent
